The armchairs are extremely comfortable and I think the distance between the tables is particularly decent. There you in no way get the feeling of dining out like fish in a can - everything is a pleasure here in terms of taste. The quantities are in a good and satisfying dimension. The staff worked quickly, cared for and nice. We think the prices are fully fair.

The place is new, the renovation works are e.g. Sometimes not quite finished (mainly from the outside). However, this has no effect on the ambience. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Large pictures on the walls with an Indian theme make a homely impression. The food is delicious. The combination of the different spices is excellent. There is only one point of criticism: the waiting times are a bit long. But everything else is right. The service is very friendly and courteous. I would love to come back and would recommend a visit.

Love this place! Great food options and an outstanding service. Tried Kothu Roti for the first time which blew my mind. Makes me want to travel more and visit Sri Lanka not just for the beauty of the island but also for the food. The staff is quite knowledgable and are able to give a lot of context and information about the food they serve.

If you want it to be authentic, this is always recommended locally. Great family atmosphere with delicious, spicy food. Gladly again and always worth a recommendation!

Fine Indian/Sri Lankan/Tamil restaurant in Heilbronn Germany. Started working in Stuttgart and have been looking for authentic Indian food places where ever I go. While there are some options around, thamarai setting the bar quite high. The restaurant is relatively new. That’s probably why I haven’t heard of it so far. From the outside you cannot even imagine what you will find inside. They have a lot of work still lined up. Nonetheless, they are ready to roll in terms of serving food. Big thumbs up to the lady in the kitchen, the food is delicious and the people there friendly and down to earth. Too bad they do not offer lunch menu at the moment. I am in Heilbronn mostly due to work and that’s mostly around noon. I hope you‘ll bring back the lunch menu soon. Wish you guys all the best and looking forward to be back again 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I ordered Panir Butter Masala, the dish with Indian cheese and Mango Mai Tai as a drink. So the dish is just a whole different world. The cheese doesn't disintegrate like feta cheese and just has a very special bite. The sharpness was great too. The service was very courteous and super nice. To the comments that the waiting time is too long: I can't understand, because this restaurant is not a snack bar but a place where you can also chat or simply end the evening, that is also the idea of ​​the owners. Especially since the food is freshly (!) Prepared, which of course takes some time. I really enjoyed the evening! To the cocktail: I can only recommend it! I also liked it very much with the alcohol (it was barely noticeable, which was fine with me since I had asked for extra little alcohol), fruity, a bit sour and very refreshing, just as I liked it! Will definitely be back!

The menu is small, but very fine - the food was very aromatic and delicious. The service was friendly and courteous, we felt very comfortable. It was our first time in the Thamarai, but certainly not the last visit.

We were at the Thamarai in Heilbronn for the first time at the weekend and are absolutely thrilled. Since we had made a reservation in advance, we got our table quickly. We had chicken rolls as a starter and the tamko and paruppu curry as the main course. We especially like to highlight the courteous and friendly service. Anyone with a penchant for Indian food will love Sri Lankan cuisine as well! The only thing that bothered me a little was the parking situation on Saturday evening. It's not really due to the Thamarai, but rather to the fact that Alt-Sontheim has developed into a restaurant and nightlife district and many people are looking for a parking space. This means that you should allow 15 minutes to find a parking space. There are 3 on-site parking spaces right in front of the restaurant, but they fill up quickly on a Saturday. But that has nothing to do with the food, that was just great! We will be back ( :

I can recommend this restaurant to everyone! The restaurant is super furnished. The food was delicious and freshly made. The service staff was very hospitable and courteous. Clearly more than 5 stars and exceeded Certainly not my last time!

I ordered a chicken kothu but unfortunately, it wasn't as spicy as I expected. The service is great though, after mentioning this I got a new plate with authentic Indian spiciness level. I understand that there is this problem of food being too spicy for locals and too mild for Indians/Sri Lankans. I would recommend to go with authentic spice level by default and add a mild option for those who’d like a variation of the original dish :). This is my favorite food place now.

The Restaurant serves really authentic south asian food for those who have a craving for the real deal. If you want an authentic experience to try Sri Lankan dishes, this is the place to be.

I was there with my family and everyone enjoyed it a lot. I was particularly impressed by the selection of vegetarian dishes. Also worth mentioning is the service, which I have rarely experienced in this form - in a positive sense. All in all, an all-round successful evening. I look forward to the next visit.

A good change from the common kitchens in Heilbronn. Good and authentic food and a very friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately no delivery is offered yet. But I hope that delivery will be considered after the introduction of the take away service. The portions could also be a bit bigger. But the bottom line is the food is great and I can only recommend one visit to everyone.

Thamarai is a real gold piece in Heilbronn. Very attentive and friendly service. As a vegetarian, I am super happy with the selection of dishes, delicious starters and many main dishes that are on offer. Finally, a Mango Lassi - perfect!

This is an excellent restaurant in this neighborhood. it should be on your 'must-try' list if you want to try some authentic Srilankan food.

Great food! I always like to order the Kothu or Tamko (specialty of the house). You can tell that the food is prepared with a lot of love and effort. The takeaway service that is offered is also recommended. I often order to take away and every time the food is ready to be picked up. Very reliable, serious and DELICIOUS!

If you are not put off by the construction site outside, you will be rewarded with excellent food in a stylish restaurant inside. The menu offers a suitable specialty from Sri Lanka for all tastes: from mild to spicy, vegan or carnivorous. The staff is very friendly and the prices are extremely humane at 10-15 € for main courses.

I highly recommend the restaurant! The inn is very easy to reach! The good transport connections mean that a meal trip can be done quickly, and the wait staff is extremely personable and extremely courteous every time. This makes me and my husband really happy with each visit. Try that unique cuisine, there is something for everyone on the menu in the guideline.

This review might change in the future if I taste the Food from the Menu, as of today being first day they offered Buffet with the following Welcome Drink Mango Lassi - 5/5 - with cardamom touch was perfect but the cardamom feel was little too much Medhu Vada - 4/5 - serving with coconut Chutney would have earned the missing star, as at some point the throat felt dry Chicken Roll - 5/5 - it was at its best Basmati Rice - 2/5 - was too Sticky - it is understandable being a family restaurant they would have cooked till now for some 5 people at home, cooking a huge portion may have caused this problem but its fine Tamko (innovation) - 3 /5 - RESPECT for the innovation 5/5 - but being a South Indian restaurant making an innovation towards Thai style Food don't make sense, I would rather say you guys to innovate some South Indian food so that people will definitely accept it as you are representing south India Lamm Curry - 4.5 / 5 - well being Srilankan you guys know how to cook Lamm, was at its best Paruppu - 3 / 5 - Kids will definitely love it Butter Chicken - 2 / 5 - was too Sour I don't felt Butter and the masalas of Butter chicken - can see you wanted to attract the Germans as most of the Germans know just Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala but the same point "South Indian Restaurant" Aubergine Curry - 4.5 / 5 at its best Price range for such small portion of Buffet is little high It is not to disappoint you guys don't feel low, I prefer always to encourage by saying the good but it will make you satisfied, in order to investigate further in kitchen someone has to say the negatives also and it won't come from the family as they want to support you always.
